Alleged killer suspected wife had an affair

The trial of a man who allegedly killed his wife and two daughters at Nanuku Settlement in Vatuwaqa, Suva in 2011 has started in the Suva High Court.

Bimlesh Dayal faces three counts of murder.

The first prosecution witness Reshma Singh, who is a neighbor to the family told the High Court this morning that Dayal was suspecting his 29 year-old wife Ranjani Singh was having an affair with her ( Reshma) fourteen year old son.

Singh told the court, days before the alleged homicide took place; Dayal called her and told her of his suspicion.

On the day of the alleged murder, Singh said some children woke her up saying they could hear some weird sounds coming from Dayal’s home.

Singh then called her husband, who is a taxi driver, who came with three police officers and forced their way into the home.

She says they found Dayal’s seven year-old daughter Amisha Singh lying in a pool of blood on the bed.

Singh says, the other daughter – Anisha was lying in a pool of blood on the floor while Ranjani was lying lifeless, also in a pool of blood on their bed with Dayal beside her.

Dayal is represented by Suva Lawyer Irshad Samad while Madonna Fong is representing the state. The trial continues before Justice Paul Madigan.
