Rabuka offers condolences on passing of Pope Francis

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has expressed his condolences and those of the people of Fiji following the death of Pope Francis.

He says Fiji stands in solidarity with people around the world during this time of mourning.

Rabuka says the legacy of faith, compassion, and service that the late pontiff leaves behind will continue to inspire generations within and beyond the Catholic Church.

Pope Francis, 88, passed away on Easter Monday. He was the first Latin American pontiff in history.

He was born Jorge Mario Bergoglio on December 17, 1936 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
