Nadroga retains Farebrother trophy

The Nadroga rugby team has retained the HFC Bank Farebrother trophy after defeating Naitasiri 26-19 in the opening challenge this afternoon at Sigatoka’s Lawaqa Park.

Wing Aisea Natoga scored Nadroga’s first try and two successful penalties from Apisalome Waqatabu which put them into the lead 13-9 at half time.

Apisalome Waqatabu scored their second try in the 13th minute of the second spell to extend their lead 20-9.

Nadroga’s captain, Manoa Tamaya says it was a tough game but they deserves the win.

“It was a good game and tough. This was all expected from the team coming into the match today. I thanked the boys for playing as a team and giving their best until the last whistle.”

Meanwhile Naitasiri was awarded a penalty try with four successful penalties from Etonia Rokotuisawa.

Coach Koli Sewabu says they will not stop from here as they will continue to build their young players in the next season.

Nadroga will now take on Suva in the second HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge
