A trough of low pressure over the eastern and the northern parts of the country is causing rain.

Senior Forecaster Amit Singh says people living in these parts will experience occasional rain which will be heavy at times.

For western division people can expect afternoon and evening showers.

“Expect this trough to affect the northern and eastern division until Thursday – then from Friday onwards we will be back with our normal trade showers.”

People living in these areas are urged to take precaution.
