Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad says the Coalition Government is fully committed to ensuring that the second Voluntary National Review accurately reflects the status of Sustainable Development Goals in Fiji.
The second VNR was launched in Suva last night.
The Deputy Prime Minister says the VNR is designed to enhance coordination, solidify stakeholder engagement, and build robust statistical processes and to improve reporting mechanisms.
He adds Fiji has been a strong advocate for the adoption of SDGs from the very beginning and we have ensured a high level of owners of SDGs within our country.
Prasad says the SDG Unit at the Ministry of Finance, Strategic Planning, National Development, and Statistics, with assistance within government, civil society and the private sector, coordinated a team that played a pivotal role in the preparation of the report.
