Many Fijians around the Suva and Lami area are rushing to do last minute grocery shopping.

Speaking to FBC News, Sailosi Taitusi from Suvavou Village in Lami says he is buying enough food for his family for next week.

Taitusi says they were not prepared for the cyclone and were expecting the weather to clear off.

He stated that most shops around the area are closed due to no electricity.

Taitusi says his family is also putting up shutters as weather conditions are expected to worsen from later tonight.
