Chief Operations Officer and Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu says driver fatigue has been linked to a number of serious accidents recorded in the past few weeks.

He says drivers need to ensure they have enough sleep or travel with someone who can assist with driving.

ACP Driu states there is a need for drivers to understand that getting adequate rest is vital to road safety, as a lack of rest will affect your concentration and risk other road users’ lives.

The Chief Operations Officer adds that drunken pedestrians have also been victims of fatalities this year, which is of great concern.
