The U.S Embassy has launched its 2022 Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program in Suva today.

U.S Charge d’Affaires Rebecca Owen says the $46,000 funding intends to provide these women with the opportunity to improve their entrepreneurial abilities.

The training will be in collaboration with the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council and the Makoi Women Vocational Center.

Owen has urged participants to make the most of their training.

“I encourage you to be bold and talk with as many people as you can to build your support networks. You will need these networks to reach your interim goals. And let’s be honest ladies to overcome the periodic setbacks that we’re going to experience in your entrepreneurial journey”.

This year, AWE has selected 170 women, and there has been a significant increase in these numbers in comparison to the past two years.

The training features women from both Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, and training begins this week.
