Members of the Suva Tennis Association are eagerly anticipating the Pacific Oceania Junior Championship, which is expected to attract athletes from across the region.
Head coach Sumit Lal says preparations have been underway for the past few weeks, with the team expecting strong competition from visiting sides.
A three-day training camp, which concluded on Tuesday, has provided a timely boost for young players as they gear up for the tournament.
The athletes received guidance from two world-class coaches, John Thompson and Kelsey Lewis, with sessions focusing on both physical conditioning and mental strength on the court.
“We are all looking forward, we had really great insight from coach Thompson and Lewis, and they are ready to compete.”
The tournament will be held in Nadi next weekend.
