McKee names experienced squad to face Tonga

Vodafone Flying Fijians coach, John McKee has named an experienced starting fifteen to take Tonga in the Pacific Nations Cup match, with two player set to make debut for the team.

Former Nadi loose forward, Naulia Dawai and Highlanders wing, Patrick Osborne will earn their first cap for the Flying Fijians against Tonga on Saturday.

McKee has made positional changes in the back-line with Samisoni Viriviri shifting to full back position, with Osborne and Adriu Delai on the wings.

Veteran Seremaia Bai and Vereniki Goneva will be in the mid-field with Ben Volavola at play makers position and Nemia Kenatale at half back.

The forward is packed with experience, led by skipper Sunia Koto.

McKee says he has full confident on his players going into the opening round of the P-N-C.

“We need to be better than we were last year. You know at the World Cup our scrums was really good and probably we were the big improvers in that area but last year.”

Fiji takes on Tonga at 3pm on Saturday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
