Seaqaqa Bailey Bridge to be completed this month

The Fiji Roads Authority is in the process of putting up a Bailey bridge beside the existing Vesidrua Bridge in Seaqaqa.

FBC News visited the site this afternoon and workers could be seen assembling the bridge together.

According to FRA Chief Executive Johnathan Moore, the Bailey bridge is expected to be completed by middle of this month.

The bridge will accommodate the legal weight limit of 32 tonnes.

Moore says after they complete the Bailey bridge, they will begin work on the Vesidrua Bridge immediately.

The planned replacement works on the Vesidrua Bridge is expected to be completed by July, 2020.

The Land Transport Authority is still monitoring heavy trucks and Lorries that crosses the bridge.
