PM lead by example

April 3, 2026 8:13 pm

Amid rising global fuel prices linked to tensions in the Middle East, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka kept a low-key approach during his visit to Nadi today, where he attended a TISI Sangam event.

He travelled in a single Foreign Affairs vehicle with just one personal bodyguard, without the usual police escort or government convoy, showing efforts to cut fuel use.

This evening, Minister Lynda Tabuya says fuel supply remains stable, with stock levels above 50 percent, but warns that higher global prices are starting to affect the country.

“Government will lead by example. We are already cutting back on travel and reducing the use of government vehicles.”
