There have been 160,000 applications so far for the $200 back-to-school support for the 2024 academic year.
The Ministry of Finance reiterates that applications will be closing next Friday, December 22nd, 2023.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad says parents and guardians who have yet to submit their applications are encouraged to apply before the deadline to ensure that no eligible child is left behind.
Parents and guardians are advised that all completed forms need to be submitted at your child’s school.
Prasad says the $200 payment per child will be made on January 10, 2024, well in advance of when schools reopen at the end of January.
The support will be provided to families earning $50,000 and below.
