The International Labor Organization says it is aware of the migrant worker issues in the Pacific.
Director-General Gilbert Houngbo says he is exploring solutions in discussions with Pacific leaders.
Houngbo met with President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere and discussed opportunities for greater cooperation in improving social justice within the labour environment.

During the meeting, the President talked about the need for an inclusive and harmonious labour environment as well as the need for the tripartite system to be strengthened through coordination and communication.
Ratu Wiliame also highlighted the challenge of the migration of workers for overseas employment and the need for decent jobs and social justice.
Houngbo emphasized that the Pacific is important to the ILO and that there is a greater need to define systematic focus areas to improve social justice in the labour environment.
He further added that there needs to be continuous consultation and mutual understanding to look after the welfare of the people.
President Katonivere also extended an invitation for Houngbo to visit Fiji during his tenure.
