Minister for Home Affairs, Pio Tikoduadua, stresses the critical importance of enhancing cybersecurity in the country.
Speaking at the inaugural Virtual Flex Innovate Conference, Tikoduadua says this event marked a significant milestone in Fiji’s efforts to bolster its digital infrastructure and protect against cyber threats.
Under the theme “Secured Digital Transformation,” the conference aimed to address the urgent need for a robust and comprehensive approach to safeguarding the digital landscape.
Tikoduadua acknowledged that, in the age of digital advancements, the government recognizes the collaborative effort required from both the public and private sectors to achieve a secure digital transformation.
“With technology permeating every aspect of our lives, we find ourselves at a critical juncture where security and innovation must go hand in hand. The digital age has brought unprecedented connectivity, convenience, and efficiency, but it has also exposed us to new vulnerabilities and threats.”
During his address, Tikoduadua highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting and working alongside the private sector in its endeavours to enhance cybersecurity.
Acknowledging the interconnected nature of today’s digital ecosystem, he stresses the importance of forging strong partnerships to protect critical infrastructure and valuable data.
Tikoduadua stresses that cybersecurity is not a challenge that can be tackled in isolation.
He says that by fostering collaboration, we can create a resilient and secure digital environment that benefits us all.
