Police investigate discovery of dismembered body of newborn

Police in Samabula are investigating the discovery of a dismembered body of a newborn baby.

It says the discovery was made by a 38-year-old woman in Tamavua yesterday afternoon.

Police say the woman believed to be the victim’s mother has been identified and is receiving medical treatment.

Investigation continues.
