Experts from Singapore are spearheading Master Planning Project for the Suva, Nadi and Lautoka municipalities.

This was revealed by Minister for Housing and Local Government Maciu Nalumisa when receiving a courtesy visit from the Singapore High Commissioner to Fiji Mary Seet-Cheng.

Nalumisa says the Master Planning Project will be carried out by the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise, aimed at urban planning for 50 years.

He says the enterprise has engaged the services of Morrow Architects and Planners to spearhead the concept to explore the expansion of services and facilities and living space to accommodate the needs of our growing population.

Discussions also revolved around creating network with relevant stakeholders in Singapore and to learn about the latest trends, global best practices and opportunities in city and town management for the betterment of municipalities in Fiji.
