34 people still in hospital, 12 in intensive care

The head of Christchurch Hospital Greg Robertson confirms there are 34 people still in hospital, 12 of whom are in intensive care.

Robertson says the two children in the hospital at present and are in stable condition.

He also says the young girl who was flown to Auckland is still in a critical condition.

Robertson explains the types of injuries they have seen are “more general saying there are more abdominal, chest injuries and quite a lot of soft tissue injuries.

Meanwhile, schools will reopen in Christchurch tomorrow, with the exception of Hagley College, which is acting as a welfare centre for the mosque shootings.

Every city school was in lockdown on Friday following the shooting.
