Fiji Table Tennis champion Sally Yee is the only player from the sport who has secured a joint IOC– Japan Olympic Committee scholarship.

This provides her with both an academic scholarship and training in Nagasaki, Japan in her bid to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games.

Yee says this is her first overseas trip away and hopes this sacrifice will pay off as she prepares to represent Fiji once again in the Olympics.

“Living in Japan taught me a lot the most important is their attitude towards training it motivates me and watching other players inspire me to work even harder.”

Yee is among the four Fijian athletes selected by FASANOC and awarded an IOC Tokyo 2020 Olympic scholarship to finance their preparations for the big games.

With her other athletes are Eugene Vollmer from Athletics, swimmer Matelita Buadromo and Robert Elder from Archery.
