The Yamacia Rugby Club is organizing a local sevens tournament for players who will be trying to make the cut for the national squad in the new season.
The organizers are targeting top teams to participate in the one day tournament, next week.
Tournament Coordinator, David Dakuitoga says they want to produce more potential players for national duties.
“We as Yamacia Rugby would want to contribute to the Fiji 7s as well. Having said that we would try and push our potential players if they are good enough for selection. We have Donasio Ratubuli who just came back from France and he has been showing interest that he wanted to impress Ben(Ryan) next season.”
The organizers are setting a target of only 10 teams for the tournament.
Dakuitoga adds they have sent out invitations to clubs such as Tabadamu, Westfield and Hideaway Hurricanes.
The Yamacia 7s will be held next week Friday at a venue yet to be confirmed.
