Yamacia on track for title defence

Defending champions Yamacia looks set to qualify for the Cup quarter-finals after winning both their matches at the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s.

The Nadi based club scored their second win after defeating Red Rock 26-10 and Mana Graphix Ulunikau 24-22 in their first match, this morning.

Daveta made an impressive comeback after they defeated Tappoo Ratu Filise 26-14 in their second match.

However, the Nadroga based club lost their first match against the Go Advertising Waibasaga team 12-7.

Wardens Gold defeated PNG 26-6 after Tovolea won a tough match against Western Suburbs 15-14.

Fiji Chemicals Vuda defeated Lauli’l Lions 31-10 and Wardens Green beat Rangataua 27-7.

Meanwhile, in the women’s division, the TFL Fijiana side recorded an impressive 33-7 victory over Highlanders.

The side can receive stiff competition in defending the title with Aussie Pearls beating Papua New Guinea 36-7.

In the other women’s division matches, Mana Graphics Striders defeated Pacific Striders 28-0, New Caledonia edged Lady Babas defeated 14-12, Nadi Blazers thumped Lautoka 28-0 and Sunnybank trounced Sydney Fiji Ranadi 38-0.

The tournament is underway at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
