The Yamacia rugby side is anticipating a tough outing at the Samoan Independence Day 7s tournament later this month.

Coach David Dakuitoga says the Navosa side is one of three local sides, alongside Police and Wardens that will participate in the 3-day tournament at Apia Park National Stadium.

“It’s a privilege and honor to be invited to the Samoa Independence Day 7s. We are expecting it to be a really tough tournament with other teams invited as well but the boys are really looking forward to the competition.”

Dakuitoga adds that national 7s reps Semi Kunatani and Donasio Ratubuli will not feature for the side following the directive of national coach Ben Ryan.

But former national rep Mosese Mawalu and extended squad member Ropate Labalaba will strengthen the team’s campaign.

The team departs for Samoa on Sunday with the tournament to be held on May 29th-31st.
