Xavier College on medal hunt

Xavier College is prepared to deliver their best at the Coca Cola Games this weekend.

Team Manager, Abdul Aqtar says they have sacrificed a lot during preparations for the past few weeks and the athletes are focused on scooping gold medals for the school at the competition.

He adds the squad aims to improve on its performance from last year.

The Ba-based school came in 4th overall in the girl’s division and 5th overall in the boy’s division at the Fiji Finals.

55 athletes will represent the Ba based school at the two day meet.

Meanwhile, Khalsa College of Ba is coming to the games with four athletes but is hopeful of returning with medals.

Khalsa’s main potential lies in the sub junior and junior grade long jump events and hopes are high their athletes won’t return empty handed.

The Coca Cola games will be held at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on this Friday and Saturday and you can watch it live on FBC TV.
