World Rugby to experiment new laws

May 2, 2018 12:02 am

Familiar faces will be seen on the Western Force side line up in its revolutionary World Series Rugby against the Fiji Warriors on Friday night.

The game will be played under experimental laws including faster scrums and line-outs and more points for long-range tries and kicks.

Former Force Captain, Matt Hodgson says this is something that is likely to suit the free-flowing and entertaining Fijians.

“Fiji is a great team and certainly they are used to this type of football and everyone can remember watching Fiji’s games every now and then and see how exciting it is and how much the fans get behind them. We will bring that in every game and hopefully that brings out more attacking on football for more people to watch it.”

The Force will play a series of friendlies against representative teams from Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and Hong Kong between May and August.

Fiji will take on Western Force at 8.30pm Friday.
