27-year old Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki was crowned the champion and regained the number one ranking at the Australian Open last night.

This was after she defeated Romanian Simona Halep in a thrilling final and become the first Dane to win a Grand Slams singles title.

The second seed won 7-6 (7-2) 3-6 6-4.

She says her dream finally came true after she was crowned the champion.

“I dreamt of this moment for so many years, and to be here today is a dream come true.”

Wonziaki will replace Halep as number one in the world rankings on tomorrow.
