Women's Football League launched

The Fiji Football Association has launched the Vodafone Womens Under 18 League.

Thirteen teams will take part in the tournament which is funded by FIFA while operational costs will be undertaken by sponsors Vodafone.

Women’s Football Director, Susan Wise says the league will be used as a development program to form a future national team.

“Fiji FA is much committed to the development of women’s football in the country and we can clearly see that our national women’s team where will be in few years to come. This league forms the basis of our women’s football development program and it accommodate the players who had previously represented Fiji in the Under 17 OFC play-off.”

The League, which will be played in a zonal basis, starts on Saturday.
