WINS Workshop to assist Journalists

A total of 12 female local journalists are participating in the Pacific Media Assistance Scheme Women in News and Sports Panel Discussion in Suva this week.

Facilitator Joanna Lester says the workshop is basically set up to uplift the skills of female reporters while reporting in any sporting event.

“We are teaching them the content about women in sports and building networks is very important. There is a high standard of sports journalism among female journalists here in Fiji and we would like them to build more content and network.”

Lester says they are more focusing on how female reporters can better themselves and enhance their knowledge and also give them a better understanding of how important to networks in sports journalism .

The week-long workshop ends tomorrow.
