Former South Africa rugby great Chester Williams says all teams are trying their best to finish in the top four in the current World Series, meaning it’s hard to predict winners of each tournament.
The top four teams after the completion of the 2014/2015 Series, will gain automatic qualification to the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
Williams says this has made competition in each tournament exciting.
“I think that is critical for all the teams as they don’t want to go out and play in play-offs or qualifiers to qualify for the Olympics. So if you can finish in the top four, you there and its only preparation for the Olympics so yes everybody is striving to finish in the top four.”
The next World Series tournament will be in New Zealand with the Wellington 7s on February 6-7.
