The controversy surrounding the Fiji Heavyweight title boxing match, which never happened between champion, Petero Qica and contender, Napoleon Taumoepeau has taken another twist.

Wild West Boxing Promoter, Abdul Khan, who organized the fight say he has filed a complaint with the Fiji Police Force against Qica for withdrawing from the title fight at the last minute.

“I signed him (Qica) eight weeks ago a $6000. I paid him $3000 before and after the weigh-in, I paid him another $530. If I knew Qica was not coming to the fight, why would I have paid another $530 extra to him.”

The Fiji Police Force has confirmed receiving a complaint yesterday from Khan regarding the matter and investigations are now underway.

Qica pulled out of the contest, citing a pulled muscle.

Attempts to get a comment from Qica proved unsuccessful.
