Western schools kiss Deans hope goodbye

Western schools will have to wait another year to try to secure the Dean’s Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby title.

Ratu Kadavulevu, Assemblies of God High, Lelean Memorial and Queen Victoria School Under 18 rugby teams are this year’s semi-finalists.

In quarter-final matches at Prince Charles Park today, RKS defeated Lautoka Central 28-10 while AOGH beat Natabua 19-10.

RKS will meet Lelean Memorial in the first semi-final next week while AOGH goes up against defending champions QVS.

Results from other grades will see the following semi-final match ups.

U14 – MBHS vs RKS, QVS vs SGS
U15 – Natabua vs LMS, MBHS vs QVS
U16 – LMS vs Rt Navula, QVS vs RKS
U17 – RKS vs Rt Navula, RSMS vs QVS

Earlier results today, in the U14 grade saw RKS beat St Thomas High 22-nil and Suva Grammar upset Natabua10-6.

In the U15s, Natabua beat John Wesley College 30-27, Lelean Memorial defeated Swami Vivekanda College 15-nil and QVS beat St Thomas 21-nil.

The Ratu Navula U16s beat Suva Grammar, 29-6.

In the Tier Two competition, U15 Nilsen High players failed to produce ID cards and therefore played a friendly against Votualevu – which Votualevu won.

The Natabua U16s defeated Xavier College 6-nil.

In the U17 grade, Ba Provincial lost to QVS 15-20 while Ratu Navula beat Marist, 33-18.
