Western Heats hopeful of national selection

The Western Heats netball team is hoping most of its players will be included in the national squad for the Netball World Cup.

The team consists of secondary schools students from Lautoka and Nadi, most of who are looking to impress national selectors.

Heats President, Joji Lagi says the players have the potential to make the cut for the Fiji Pearls

_ “If they can improve from their games and also to have that gurts to take them through to be part of the Fiji team or to be part of the pearls, that’s the main aim for the team right now.”_

Weatern Heats is currently unbeaten in the Digicel Punjas Netball League Series, which is held every week at the Multi-purpose court in Lautoka.

The team has six players in the Fiji Pearls extended squad that is preparing for the Netball World Cup to be held in Australia on August 7th to the 16th.
