FASANOC President Joseph Rodan says the Levuka Weightlifting Club took out the wrong context made by Chief Executive Lorraine Mar to one of its lifters.

Rodan made this comment after an email received from the Levuka Weightlifting Club saying they are saddened by the action taken by Mar towards one their lifters over the phone last Friday.

Levuka Weightlifting Club President Peni Tawai stated in the letter that Mar told the lifter she didn’t appreciate the medals won by them at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Rodan says their role is to help and facilitate all athletes and the comment made by the Club in Levuka was not true.

“They took it out of context. All Lorraine is trying to do is to help this lifter because the lifter is working with FASANOC and so it’s a one to one and all they trying to do is a help and they took the wrong context.”

Meanwhile, Mar is currently in Samoa and is unreachable for a comment on the issue.
