The William Web Ellis Cup visited the Fiji Rugby Union this morning as part of the Rugby World Cup 2019 trophy tour.

The Cup made its way from Japan and arrived into the country on Monday and visited places in the Western Division.

While welcoming the Cup, FRU Chief Executive, John O’Connor, says the Ellis Cup could not have visited FRU at a better time as the Flying Fijians begin preparations for the World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup.

“This is indeed an exciting day for us to welcome the Webb Ellis Cup as we launch the June Test Series and the team sets their sights in Japan 2019. The Web Ellis Cup is a huge symbol of the sport that we all love and one that all rugby world cup nations compete fearlessly for every four years.”
The Cup will visit Marist Brothers High School this afternoon and will then travel to Tailevu to visit the Ratu Kadavulevu School.

It will depart for Hong Kong next Wednesday.
