Partial flooding in low lying areas around Nadi and heavy rain in Lautoka has forced organisers to cancel the their respective secondary schools zone athletics meet today.

Nadi Zone meet organiser, Atishwar Lal says continuous rain this morning has spoiled the ground conditions at Prince Charles Park and the decision to postpone the event was for the safety of their students.

Lal adds the two-day meet will now be shifted to next Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting.

Lautoka Zone meet official, Sairusi Naituku has confirmed the games in Lautoka have also been cancelled due to continuous heavy rain.

Organisers have yet to decide on the new dates.
