We will not underestimate any team: Tuwai

Fiji Airways men’s 7s captain Jerry Tuwai says they will not underestimate any team as everyone has evolved in the world sevens series.

Tuwai says Coach Gareth Baber has been working on preparing them technically, tactically, mentally and physically before the Paris tournament this weekend.

He says their main focus now is to win all their pool games and progress to the cup quarter-final.

“All the boys are really good and all our focus are in Paris and with South Africa and New Zealand with much respect to them and also all our pool games and we will take one game at a time.”

Fiji now has 167 points while South Africa has 160. Fiji needs to win 17 points or a bronze medal finish to gain 184 points and win the world title.

The Fiji 7s is pooled with New Zealand, Kenya and Samoa for the Paris tournament.

They will play Samoa in its first pool match at 8.50pm tomorrow and then faces Kenya at 11.46pm.Fiji plays its final pool match against New Zealand at 5.14am on Sunday.

The cup quarterfinal kicks off at 8.13pm, semi-finals will be at 12.03am next Monday and the final is scheduled for 4.54am.
