The heroics of the Fiji Warriors in the Pacific Rugby Cup last week could see more local players putting their hands up for a place in the national squad.
The Warriors beat Samoa A 42-34 and Tonga A 25-16 to win the PRC title for the fourth year in a row.
Assistant coach Sale Sorovaki says the players in the squad proved their worth and have a bright future.
“A lot of these players have been playing in our local competition and having seen them play in the last two games against Samoa and Tonga, I think they played very well.”
Sorovaki says the core of the players in the Warriors have already indicated through their performance that they will surely be fighting for a place in the senior and 7s sides.
Flying Fijians head coach Inoke Male has already stressed he will be giving more local players a chance in the build-up to the 2015 World Cup in England.
