The New South Wales Waratahs have been force to omit Fijian winger, Taqele Naiyaravoro from their side to face the Wellington Hurricanes in Super Rugby this weekend due to a visa issue.

Naiyaravoro was left out of the team for the match against the Highlanders last month and is unable to leave Australia for the time being.

A statement from the franchise says Naiyaravoro’s visa application is an ongoing process.

The Waratahs declined to comment on whether the 23 year old will be available for subsequent game in South Africa later in the year, which could prove decisive to their title defence.

Naiyaravoro currently leads the Waratahs try-scorers list with three tries.

The Waratahs will take on the competition-leading Hurricanes on Saturday at 4:30pm.

On Friday, the Crusaders host the Chiefs at 7:35pm.
