Waranivalu scores winning goal for Suva

The Suva football secured their first win after defeated Tavua 1-0 in its second pool match of the Vodafone Fiji FACT that is currently underway at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park.

Both team were tied at nil all at halftime.

Tevita Waranivalu then scored their winning goal in the 43rd of play in the second spell.

Suva was beaten by Lautoka 1-0 last night in its first match.

Suva Coach Tuka Tisam says Tavua really gave them a good game.

“We won by one goal and its good for us. Tavua is really a tough side in their defensive and counter attacking and they really gave us a good show.”

Tavua Coach Saroj Kumar says they will have have to work on their finishing phase.

“We all know that Suva is a very good team and I believe we have to go back to our drawing board again. I believe we need to look at our finishing phase.”

Meanwhile, Dreketi is currently playing Rewa, Lautoka meets Nadi at 4pm while Ba to play against Labasa at 6pm.

Tomorrow, Lautoka will take on Tavua at 11am, Ba to meet Dreketi at 1pm, Nadi to battle Suva at 3pm while Rewa will then play Labasa at 5pm.
