Waqa Blake

Fijian International Waqa Blake is expected to sign with the Parramatta Eels.

Blake recently played for the Panthers and was released on Wednesday.

He only re-signed with the Panthers last year on a four-year extension through to the end of 2023.

Panthers CEO Brian Fletcher says the Eels made the approach to express interest in acquiring the service of Blake.

Fletcher says it was a difficult decision to grant Waqa’s release but the team is thankful for the contribution he made while with the side.

The Eels will be making the announcement of Blake’s signing soon.

The Raiders take on the Eels at 9.35pm, Saturday.
