Wales can still do it-Williams

September 8, 2015 6:40 pm

Former Wales rugby wing, Shane Williams, says despite losing fullback Leigh Halfpenny to injury, the side will be able to bounce back.

Toulon’s Halfpenny, 26, ruptured anterior cruciate knee ligaments during Wales’ 23-19 win over Italy at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday.

Scrum-half Rhys Webb, also 26, suffered an ankle injury in the match, but there is no news yet on the extent of the damage.

Williams says it is all about playing as a team.

“There are players in Wales that certainly can come in and steer the ship and help Wales get over this weekend and move on and just concentrate on Uruguay its not a lot of doom and gloom but it is bad news and wish these guys all the best but the World Cup isn’t over yet.”

Wales is pooled with Fiji, England, Australia and Uruguay.
