The Wairiki Parish Netball and Rugby 7s tournament received some good news in Taveuni today.
Fosters Group (Fiji ) Ltd Marketing Manager, Joe Rodan has pumped up their sponsorship for the tournament which hosts rugby 7s, netball and now volleyball.
Tournament organizer, Jone Vuki says this speaks volumes for their efforts in what is the biggest tournament in Taveuni.
“We have a huge crowd in Waiyevo and Wairiki. Netball is on right now and Service Angles is the strong team, for volleyball teams are paying in their fees, they are having clinics we a tying to revive volleyball here and Fosters has increased their sponsorship, they’ve promised $15,000 next year which speaks volumes.”
Suva’s Police side is now the top bet to win the 7s tournament tomorrow – the Manasa Bari coached side upset hosts, Somosomo Sharks 17-7 yesterday.
Volleyball begins tomorrow – the live commentaries the cup quarterfinals of the 7s will air on our sister station, Radio Fiji One.
