December 1, 2015 3:00 am

The Queen Victoria School Old Boys Rugby Club today launched the annual Druavesi Golf tournament as well as their 50th Anniversary Celebration in Suva, with both events to be held on Friday.

In thanking the tournament sponsors, Pacific Energy for the donation of $7500 to the one-day competition, Club President, Anasa Vocea is expecting stiff competition among the former scholars.

“The competition can get very intense but there is a lot of fun in it. For the last three years, Verata House has been winning the competition and all the other houses will be trying very hard to un-seat them.”

The Druavesi tournament, which will be held on Friday at the Suva Golf Club, is named after the late Netani Druavesi, the longest serving school teacher at QVS from the 1940s to the late 70s.
