Fiji Airways Drua magic man Alivereti Veitokani has won the inaugural 2018 National Rugby Championship Rising Star award.
In the first year of the NRC Rising Star award, which was created to recognise emerging players with fewer than three games in Super Rugby or for the Flying Fijians, Veitokani was nominated in round two.
Rugby Australia reports, the 25-year-old was awarded the maximum amount of 21 points, three points from each of the seven judges.
Veitokani thanked everyone for the support and says it just another achievement in his rugby career.
“It means a lot as we started this year. Drua simply means a lot of things to us players. It also means a lot to my family, relatives and friends and all the Fijians who have been supporting us throughout the season.”
Veitokani topped the clean breaks list with 26, had 19 offloads, 9 assits and ran 921metres.
The Drua plays the Country at 3.30pm at Lautoka’s Churchill Park today.
