Vatubuli and league quartet to boost Tumbarumba

Former Fiji Bati assistant coach, Timoci Vatubuli alongside four local rugby league players have signed up with Australian league club, Tumbarumba.

Vatubuli who played for Tumbaruma from 1997 to 2000 has signed up to coach this season.

Tumbarumba president Darrel Schmidt was pleased to announce the signing of Vatubuli with the inclusion of four reps.

Fiji National Rugby League operations manager, Rusiate Ratakele says it is always a privilege providing overseas exposure for their players with the World Cup coming up.

“Four players who have secured contracts to the Tumbarumba rugby league club for the Group Nine season are Peniasi Wakawaka and Iliesa Takubu from the Sigatoka Electrical Roosters, Etuate Tagicakibau Bola and Aporosa Vosataki of the Hot Bread Kitchen Nabua Broncos.”

Vatubuli represented Group Nine during his previous stint with Tumbarumba and is a Fiji Bati representative.

In 2006, Vatubuli coached the Junior Bati, the Fijian national under 20 team and was team manager on the recent Fijian tour of Papua New Guinea.
