Vakasama breaks three records at Fiji Games

Nadi swimmer Taichi Vakasama broke four National Open Swimming records at the Damodar Aquatic Centre today.

Vakasama broke the time of 4.47.13 seconds which was set in 2016 at the Oceania Champs Fiji. He clocked a new record of 4.38.91 seconds in the 400m Individual Medley.

He also set a new record in the 50m Back stroke with a time of 29.10s. The old record of 29.25s which was set in 2016.

He clocked 2:08.41 seconds in the 200m Individual Medley events to help his Nadi team in leading the medal tally.

Another record was broken by Netani Ross in the 100 Back stroke with a time of 1.00.01s. The old record stood at 1.00.73c which was set last year.

Meanwhile, Suva beat Rotuma in the Women’s 4x200m Freestyle and Nadi taking out the Gold in the Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay.
