June 14, 2015 6:38 pm

Chess master, Manoj Kumar has ended Calvin Prasad’s dominance in the local chess scene after winning the Rajnesh Parmeshwar Memorial Open Chess Championship in Suva yesterday.

The school teacher was delighted with his victory but pointed out it was a better feeling to see more young participants compete in the tournament.

The Fiji Chess Federation is aiming to get as many kids involved in chess and basically this will be our base for international competition. We are also hoping to promote chess in schools so that we can get as many kids and students to play the game.
