Upgraded ground for Vanuavou Primary School students

An international standard sized playing ground is awaiting students of Vanuavou Primary School as they return from their two week holiday.

The new ground was officially opened and handed over to the school by the Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou this morning.

Speaking at the event, Tuitubou says government, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to enhancing the development of sports and physical activity in the country.

He says the Ministry has worked to ensure that they provide the best investment in sports development and Sports facilities.

School Manager Tevita Titobu says the playing ground has been a long time coming for the school and the nearby communities.

An MOU was assigned following the official event between the Ministry and the school management to allow youths from the nearby communities to use the playing ground as well.

The 120×70 meter playing ground also includes a running track and can also accommodate a netball court and a volleyball court.
