Competition gets tougher at the Fiji Ultimate Soccer Cup finals that will be played from 10am at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park today.

Fiji Under-17 coach, Shalend Lal says the performance of players continue to grow competing against teams from Australia.

“This tournament is more competitive since I have been here as a player from a decade ago and then now as a coach from past three years. And this is the first year I have seen that a lot competition coming in from Fiji teams in comparison to the teams from Australia.”

Australia has fielded a total of eight teams for the tournament.

Lal adds these overseas teams will help develop the 300 players and 40 coaches from Fiji.

The final of the Ultimate Cup tournament starts at 2.20pm.
