Preparations are shaping up for the Oceania Under 19 basketball championship in Suva.

With sixteen teams to compete in the men’s and women’s grades, a large contingent of staff will be recruited to serve as officials.

“For Basketball Fiji and also for our associations and also for those who will be involved in organizing the event, we are basically looking at having roughly 300 local volunteers from our various associations in helping us out with the events.”

Meanwhile, Basketball Fiji will also be exposing ten local referees and close to 40 bench officials.

The Oceania Basketball Championships will be held on the 1st to the 6th of December at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
