U15 players vying to make Oceania U15 AFL team

The 2019 U15 Oceania Cup will give players an opportunity to make a name for themselves in the international arena.

The tournament kicked off yesterday with four teams from the region participating this year.

AFL Fiji Vice Chairman Saula Tuilevuka says this tournament serves as a trial for players who will get a chance to represent an Oceania under 15 team to the Brisbane National Championship next year.

From this tournament, this is the pathway for our U15 players. Which involves under 15 teams from the region, to be able to participate in the Brisbane National Championship which is held every April in Brisbane.”

Tonga joins this year’s Oceania Cup adding more fire power and to the tournament.

Tuilevuka adds this tournament is part of AFL Oceania’s Pacific talent pathway program.

The 2019 AFL Oceania Cup continues at Albert Park with the final to be held on Thursday.
